JAAB's MISSION
The Jamaican and American Association of Buffalo's (JAAB) vision is to foster and support educational, cultural, social and economic programs affecting Jamaica, other Caribbean islands and surrounding communities of Buffalo and Western New York.

In achieving its mission, JAAB provides the following:

In achieving its mission, JAAB provides the following:
- The Annual Marcus Garvey Academic Scholarship - which (since 1989) has awarded scholarships to more than 150 pre-K through high school students in the Buffalo, New York Public Schools;
- The St. Ann, Jamaica / Buffalo, New York Sister Cities Union - which facilitates cultural exchange between Buffalo, New York and international Sister Cities;
- The JAAB Health Mission - which is dedicated to the advancement of health education and healthcare delivery and facilitates exchanges between Buffalo high school students, college students, physicians, teachers and other professionals providing free healthcare and medicine to the needy in Jamaica, other Caribbean islands, surrounding communities of Buffalo and Western New York and affected national/international areas (i.e. the JAAB Katrina Relief Effort);
- The JAAB/Jamaica Association for the Deaf Program (Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica);
- JAAB Community Outreach - which support community events (Project Respect, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, and Black History Month);
- JAAB Global Exchange - which exchanges visits between Buffalo and Jamaica to foster economic network between members;
- The Buffalo / St. Ann Jamaica Sister Cities Annual Golf Tournament - which benefits our Marcus Garvey Academic Scholarship program and the JAAB Health Mission.
